Shane English School Taiwan’s 1st ever writing competition was held in November and December 2013. From the hundreds of articles submitted, 40 students were chosen to attend the main event in Taipei and Taichung on 7th December. On the day, the participants were given a topic to write about and had to finish writing about it in 2 hours.
Each written piece was graded on the following: structure and content, grammar, vocabulary and spelling.
The topics of the preliminary contest were:
Level E1-E4: “If you could have one super-power, what would it be and how would you use it?”
Level D1-D4: “My favourite things about Taiwan are…”
Level M1-M5: “If I were the President…”
