Ben Tre City, Vietnam- On 7th November 2012, Shane English Vietnam began teaching the nine-week Cambridge FCE English course to 140 primary, secondary, and high school English Teachers at Ben Tre City, Vietnam.  Shane English Vietnam won this contract as part of the Vietnamese government’s project “Improving teaching and learning English in the National Education System”.  The classes are taking place at My Hoa high school in Ben Tre City.

The course is designed to improve teachers’ English level from A2 to B1 by Cambridge FCE standard.  Upon passing the Cambridge FCE, teachers will receive a certificate confirming an acceptable level of English with which to conduct a class.  The course has been divided into four classes and lasts a total of 150 hours.

Shane English Vietnam’s Managing Director, Wendy Nguyen, spoke at a ceremony marking the start of the nine-week long course along with the Ben Tre City Department of Education and Training’s Deputy Director, Dr. Nguyen Van Huan.  Nguyen said, “It is great to be part of a fantastic program in Vietnam and to contribute to the cause of improving the English level of Vietnamese teachers.  The course will enable them to serve the people better by giving high quality lessons to their students.”
