Holiday: ‘Easter’

English lesson - Easter

‘Easter’  /ˈiːstə/

This is a holiday in late March or early April. It is always held on a Sunday.

Easter is an important Christian holiday. It remembers the story in the Bible about Jesus Christ’s death and return to life.

Today, Easter is also a family holiday that celebrates the end of winter and the start of spring in many countries.

To celebrate, people like to paint eggs. The Easter Bunny then hides the eggs along with some treats, and children find them.

Happy Easter!
