Holiday: ‘Saint Patrick’s Day’

English lesson - Saint Patrick's Day

‘Saint Patrick’s Day’  /seɪnt ˈpætrɪks deɪ/

This is an annual festival held on March 17.

Saint Patrick’s Day (also written St. Patrick’s Day) began as a religious festival to celebrate Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland.

Today, Saint Patrick’s Day parties are held around the world to celebrate Irish culture, history, and heritage.

As part of the celebration, there will be parades, special food and drink, and people will wear green.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
